In front of her, right at her feet, she watches a million shards of glass fall.
Broken edges that catch the light from every angle, creating stardust in between the two of them.
Broken glass that wears a mask; just as angry as it is beautiful.
A simple touch to draw your blood and a million of them will do so much damage.
She watched as they crashed and danced upon the wooden floors beneath her feet;
and as they begin to stop, as they play on their remaining balance; they no longer shine.. they no longer taunt the light to seek out their imperfect edges, to make them glow and shine as they did once upon a time.
Silent and still; they lay there, dull and lifeless.
Danger to you, to me.
They await the day perfection walks by and puts them all back together.
Mending that of which is broken.
They weep a silent cry when dusted along their grave grounds.
She looks up.
He looks down.
a spirit has been lost.
and once again,
i have broken somebody.

Somebody's been traveling
ReplyDeletesearching,
exploring
seeking the things that they think they're missing.
With the thugs in the East End
with the stuck up Parisians
With the rough-necks in Berlin
with the beautiful Venetians
With the stoners out in Amsterdam
with the billionaires in Monaco
with the Austrian Bavarians
and other lost and lonely travelers.
Thinking
Watching
Laughing
Talking
And all the time wondering what it is I'm lacking.
I'm not sure, if I really found an answer,
but on my return one thing's for sure;
I'm just trying to be a better man.
